Step 5 - Upload Digital Images/Pictures
Now that you have successfully Requested a Forum Number, Registered for a Gallery, Logged In, and Created a Gallery you will want/need to upload pictures to your new 650 CCnD Photo Gallery so you and other members can view the pics of your sweet motorcycle.
** Prior to starting this upload process, make sure you know where the pics you want to upload are stored/located on your computer! **
- No one file can be larger that 1024 kilobytes in size. (A file larger than this will not be successfully uploaded.)
- Total storage space available for your 650 CCnD Photo Gallery is 2048 kilobytes. (If a file's size will result in the total storage space available for your gallery being exceeded, it will not be successfully uploaded to your gallery.
- The maximum height and/or width (horizontal/vertical) for a gallery image is 1280 dpi. (For instance, an image that is 640 x 480 should upload. The same file, if it is double in size, at 1280 x 960 should upload. However, if either of those numbers exceeds 1280, the file will not successfully upload.)
- It is highly recommended that all images be reduced to a size of no more than 640 x 480 (or 480 x 640 for portrait layout) prior to upload.
- It is highly recommended that all images be saved by your image viewing sofware at no more than 72dpi. Print quality is usually 250 - 300 dpi. However, web browsers only display images at 72dpi. If you are uploading images with a dpi greater than 72dpi, you are just wasting your storage space. The higher the images dpi, the larger the saved file size will be.
If you are logged in, you should be able to see the following command buttons/links at the top left of the page:
Click on the button/link.
Your browser will display the Upload File form pictured here:
With this form you will be able to identify and upload up to five image/pic files at a time.
Click on the button located to the right side of the line labled with the number 1.
Your browser will display the Choose File window pictured here (Your's may not look exactly like the one pictured here. Several factors like which operating system you have, the version of that operating system, whether your computer is Windows or Apple/Macintosh based, etc.):
At this point, you will need to know where the images/pics are stored on your hard drive, navigate to that directory, select the file you want to upload, and click on the button.
If you want to upload more files, repeat this process for each file on lines 2 through 5 of the Upload File page. After you have selected all the files you want to upload (or the maximum of five), then
After you have selected all the files you want to upload (or the maximum of five), then click the button located in the bottom center of the Upload File page.
Your browser will display the following Successful Uploads page:
If your browser displays any errors at this point, there are a few things that you should check.

It is possible that you will not receive any error message for files that are not successfully uploaded to your gallery. However, it is highly likely that for those that haven't been successfully uploaded, they do not meet the above limitations.
If your browser displayed the successful upload message, click on the button.
Your browser will display the Upload File form pictured here (The image in the upper left corner should be one of your images, and the File name should of the image should be displayed to the image's right.):
You will see a drop down list box.

You should see a list dropdown with your login id (the name of your album) in the list:
Move your mouse over your album name (your login id) and it will be highlighted:
With your mouse pointer over your album name and the album name highlighted click the left mouse button. The dropdown list should now have your album selected:
Now enter a title in the field. You should enter at least the bike's name, or your forum id and a pic number. This file title will be displayed below the image in your gallery. So, it would be nice for folks viewing the pics to know whom to post to over on the forum should they want to comment on the bike. For instance, an entry of:
would result in the pic being displayed in your gallery like this:
A File Description can be entered as well, but, is not required.
Click the button.
The Upload File form will be displayed again for each picture you successfully uploaded. Select your album name, enter a File Title, and click the Continue button for each image. After you have assigned all of your uploaded files to your album, and Titled them, after clicking the Contine button for the last image uploaded the following message will be displayed by your browser:
Click the button.
The browser will return you to the 650 CCnD Photo Gallery main/home page.
The Gallery Administrator will receive an e-mail letting them know that there are photos awaiting approval/acceptance. If your uploaded pics do not violate the 650 CCnD Terms of Service, they will be approved/accepted by the Gallery Administrator within 72 hours (usually quicker, except during weekends during warm weather, the Gallery Administrator will definitely be out riding then).
You will not automatically receive an e-mail when your uploaded images have been accepted/approved. However, the Gallery Administrator will generally, when they remember, notify you via e-mail when this has been done. If you do want to receive such an e-mail, you must ensure that you entered a viable e-mail address when you registered. You can always just login to the Photo Gallery from time to time and check the 650 CCnD Forum Member Bike Gallery (User galleries) link, to see if your pics are available.
